Lake Avenue Water Main Replacement Project

Colorado Springs Utilities will begin replacement of a water
main pipeline in Lake Avenue in early May. This work – between The Broadmoor
and Seventh Street – will require a detour and lane restrictions. To provide
information to the neighborhood and the public, Utilities plans an open house
Monday, April 24. The detour will be between The Broadmoor and 1st
Street, using Pourtales Road, and will last about two weeks. Later phases will
permit single lanes of eastbound and westbound traffic on Lake Avenue with
construction occurring in a third lane that is reserved for construction.
The replacement is part of Utilities’ ongoing effort to replace aging water
infrastructure before the City resurfaces streets
